چکیده

Objective The female condom is a non-hormonal barrier method that can protect from unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections such as HIV. Female condoms are an important contribution to women’s reproductive health globally they the only woman-initiated currently available provide dual protection. This article describes how human-centred design (HCD) was applied development of Woman’s Condom—a second-generation condom. Methods A multidisciplinary team pioneered application HCD principles develop novel product. Condom incorporated feedback both male users multiple sites in USA Cuernavaca, Mexico; Durban, South Africa Khon Kaen, Thailand inform product development. Results We developed tested more than 50 iterations reflecting various solutions user-related concerns. final locked confirmed easy use, stable, comfortable provided satisfactory sensation during sex for partners. ‘dissolving capsule’ facilitate insertion ‘soft cling’ key innovative features Condom. Conclusion (or internal) has been shown be highly acceptable throughout world. Condom’s special enable insertion, secure fit good removal. Engaging codesigners through approach resulted meets needs women men diverse regions.

An Iterative Approach to Develop a Cognitive Model of the Driver for Human Centred Design of Its

Applying a Human Centred Design (HCD) approach to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is a challenging issue. Indeed, it is fundamental to confront the end-user to the designed system as often and as soon as possible. However, this process is both costly and time-consuming. We present several ways in which driver models, especially cognitive models, could support the HCD of driving assista...

Towards Human-Centred Design

The field of HCI has evolved and expanded dramatically since its origin in the early 1980’s. The HCI community embraces a large community of researchers and practitioners around the world, from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds in the human and social sciences, engineering and informatics, and more recently, the arts and design disciplines. This kaleidoscope of cultures and disciplines as s...

Methods to support human-centred design

This paper notes the importance of usable systems and promotes the process of humancentred design as a way to achieve them. Adopting the framework of ISO 13407, each of the main processes in the human-centred design cycle is considered in turn along with a set of usability methods to support it. These methods are brie#y described with references to further information. Each set of methods is al...

Human-centred design in aviation

This paper focuses on the next challenges that, in the near future, ergonomics has to cope with in the aviation domain. After a short excursus, showing the accidents dynamics along the years and pointing out the relative causes, the paper illustrates the difference between two different conception of automation: a generic human (user) friendly versus a specific pilot-friendly concept. This is u...

Using Taguchi Experimental Design to Develop an Optimized Synthesis Procedure of Sodalite Prepared by Microwave and Ultrasonic Assisted Aging

Perlite or pearl stone is a natural glass which has formed by rapid cooling of viscous lava or magma. Perlite is mainly composed of silica, aluminum, potassium and sodium. In this experiment, perlite was used as a low-cost source of Si and Al to synthesis of sodalite zeolite using the alkaline hydrothermal treatment. A statistical Taguchi design of experiments was employed to evaluate the effec...
